Initial Visit: What To Expect

Superior Family Chiropractic values our patients. Going to a new place for the first time can make you nervous or anxious. We want to do everything we can to eliminate any unnecessary stress, which is why we include the option of printing and completing your forms at home. Our patients quickly become part of our extended family, and we are excited to meet you!

Upon arriving at your scheduled appointment time you will be greeted by our friendly staff and asked to complete your intake paperwork including health history.  If you would like to save time please click on the “New Patient Forms” link below, print and complete before arrival at our office.

After completing the required paperwork, you will be given a short tour of our facility followed by the consultation with your doctor.  We will have time to converse thoroughly about your history and answer any questions you might have while explaining the focus and objective of chiropractic care at our office.

A thorough examination withal then be performed to detect the presence of vertebral subluxation.  Exam procedures include but are not limited to postural analysis and range of motion to detect aberrant biomechanical and structural imbalances.  Computerized spinal examination through infrared thermography will also be used to provide qualitative and quantitive data to assist in determining which levels of autonomic nerve system are being adversely affected by vertebral subluxation.  This non-invasive scan is easy to use in charting the process of your care. Next, the doctor will perform a hands on evaluation through static and motion palpation.  From here a radiographic (X-RAY) analysis will be used when warranted to examine the physical and anatomical components influencing vertebral subluxation (i.e. disc degeneration, osteoarthritis, etc.). Measurements will be made on the X-RAY to certain “joint” articulations to help further investigate structural integrity and alignment issues.

Now you may see why the first visit is also referred to as the “detective visit”.  We want to be as thorough and specific with your chiropractic care as possible.  The best part about this thorough analysis is that all of the findings will be presented to you at your report of findings visit.  At this time you will receive a copy of your thermography scan and a report folder with your subluxation findings and analysis.  You don’t need to be a chiropractor or any other kind of doctor to gain a better understanding of your body’s physiology.  It is clear to see how our lifestyle choices and chiropractic care can help our bodies heal, function more efficiently, and maintain better health and vitality from the inside out.  We look forward to working with you to help achieve your goals and live to your fullest potential.
